Impact & Responsibilities: Serves as the head technician for all pianos in the School of Music; develops and institutes a long-term plan for ongoing maintenance and replacement of all pianos; confers with faculty, students and visiting artists relative to tuning and special needs for tuning and tunes pianos to achieve the highest level of musical performance; oversees piano inventory and associated budget; supervises assistants or contracted staff ensuring high quality work; and makes recommendations related to industry changes. Support of concert needs before and after normal working hours will be necessary.
 
Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Music or related field and professional piano tuning experience required. Associate's degree in Music or related field and at least three years of professional piano tuning experience may be substituted. Student experience will be considered.
Spring 2024 graduates will be considered. Degree must be conferred prior to start date.
 
Preferred: Registered Piano Technician (RPT) designation with the Piano Technicians Guild; and experience in a college or university setting supporting the technical needs of music faculty and students.
