Responsibilities: Develops and implements an innovative and comprehensive fitness program for university students, faculty, staff, retirees, families, alumni, and community; schedules classes and instructor/personal training assignments; identifies, recruits, hires, trains, schedules, supervises and evaluates program instructors/personal trainers, and fitness area supervisors; develops and distributes marketing and promotion materials; and participates in short-and-long range planning as part of the recreation team.

Qualifications: At least a bachelor’s degree in health promotion, physical education, recreation management, fitness management or related field; at least one year of experience supervising a personal training or fitness class program; and first aid, CPR/AED certification required. Master’s degree in health promotion, physical education, recreation management, fitness management or related field; and certification in ACE, AFAA, ACSM, or NSCA preferred. Student experience will be considered. Serving in a rotating on- call capacity for supervision of social and recreational activities, including nights and weekends, will be necessary.
