Utility Plant Maintenance Mechanic I/II/III Utilities & Power Plant
Responsibilities: Under general supervision, assists with installation and repair of piping; and performs preventive maintenance and maintenance duties in assigned areas of the utility plant as well as general carpentry work.
Minimum Eligibility Requirements:
Utility Plant Maintenance Mechanic I: Must have a high school diploma or equivalent, and two years experience in an industrial plant, process plant or utility plant maintenance environment with experience in rotating equipment maintenance, or a two-year, post high school technical degree in industrial maintenance.
Utility Plant Maintenance Mechanic II: Must have a high school diploma or equivalent, and possession of a state-sponsored stationary engineers license similar to the State of Minnesota Second Class Engineer license or ability to become licensed within 6 months, and three years experience in an industrial plant, process plant or utility plant maintenance environment involving primarily rotating equipment maintenance and certification by the American Welding Society standard AWS D1.1 to perform structural welding; or a two year post high school technical degree in industrial maintenance, plus one year experience in an industrial plant, process plant or utility plant maintenance environment involving primarily rotating equipment maintenance and certification by the American Welding Society standard AWS D1.1 to perform structural welding; or journey level skills in one or more of the following trades: machinist, boilermaker, millwright, or structural welding with certification by the American Welding Society standard AWS D1.1 to perform structural welding.
Utility Plant Maintenance Mechanic III: Must have a high school diploma or equivalent, and possession of a state-sponsored stationary engineers license similar to the State of Minnesota Second Class Engineer license or ability to become licensed within 6 months, and four years experience in an industrial plant, process plant or utility plant maintenance environment involving rotating equipment maintenance, and including a minimum of two years experience with boilers and other steam equipment; and certification for welding of utility plant piping systems according to ASME B31.1 standards; or a two year post high school technical degree in industrial maintenance and two years experience in an industrial plant, process plant or utility plant maintenance environment involving rotating equipment maintenance, and including a minimum of two years experience with boilers and other steam equipment; and certification for welding of utility plant piping systems according to ASME B31.1 standards; or journey level skills in two or more of the following trades: boilermaker, millwright, or welder, and certification for welding of utility plant piping systems according to ASME B31.1 standards, and basic certification in one or more predictive maintenance skills, such as thermography, vibration analysis, or lubricating oil technician.
Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 7:00 am to 3:30 pm
