Responsibilities: Coordinates and manages the Migratory Education Program (MEP); works closely with the Iowa Department of Education to ensure that all required elements of the federal program are implemented with fidelity as outlined in Title I, Part C of ESSA; hires, trains, and evaluates MEP staff; coordinates with a variety of stakeholders to increase efficiency, growth, and positive impact on educational opportunities and outcomes for migratory children across Iowa, so that goals of the MEP are fulfilled and continually improved upon.
Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in social services, counseling, education, communications, human resources or related field; at least two years of experience working with children, families, and/or education; experience working with vulnerable populations; strong attention to detail and organization skills; ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines simultaneously; proficiency in Google Suites, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and Zoom; and strong written and verbal communication skills required. Master’s degree; bilingual proficiency; and managerial experience preferred. Student experience will be considered. Occasional work outside of normal work hours and travel within the state of Iowa will be necessary.
