Responsibilities: Provides clinical services and training oversight to ensure quality, ethical, effective care in line with the treatment model of Psychiatric and Counseling Services; facilitates methods for promoting excellent clinical performance, high-quality clinical services to all clients in the Counseling Center; assists the Director in providing clinical supervision including ensuring compliance with appropriate ethical and accreditation standards; and carries a clinical caseload of clients at the Counseling Center, including initial triage screening and assessments, risk assessment, crisis management, individual/group/couples counseling, psycho-education, psychological assessment, and referrals to campus or community services as appropriate.
Qualifications: Master’s degree in mental health counseling, social work, marriage and family therapy or related field; current Iowa licensure as a mental health therapist or licensed independent social worker; and at least three years of clinical experience related to counseling or assessment and diagnosis required. Experience with crisis intervention and consultation; experience providing supervision and clinical training in a college counseling center; knowledge of current professional research and best practices related to counseling center operations, clinical services, and clinical training programs; experience providing clinical mental health services to diverse populations; and an affinity for working in an interdisciplinary team preferred.
This position is scheduled 3 days per week, with the following time off: Thanksgiving week, winter break (approximately 3 weeks), spring break, and a two-week summer break before the start of fall classes.
