Assistant Professor, Sports Administration
The University of Northern Iowa’s Department of Kinesiology and Athletic Training seeks applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor of Sports Administration position, starting in August 2025. We are seeking professionals committed to the academic and professional preparation of Sport Administration majors.
Primary responsibilities include teaching Sports Administration courses such as ‘Introduction to Sport Administration’, ‘Introduction to Sport Marketing’, ‘Sport Event and Facility Management’ at the undergraduate level; conducting research and engaging in scholarly activities; supervising undergraduate and graduate research projects; and participating in professional service. Required Qualifications: Ph.D. or equivalent terminal degree in Sports Administration or a closely related field (ABD will be considered); demonstrated ability to teach Sports Administration classes; demonstrated record of effective teaching; and demonstrated ability to conduct research and publish manuscripts required.
Preferred Qualifications: Prior university-level teaching experience; strong background in research methodology and statistics preferred; and experience in the Sports Administration field preferred.
