Assistant Professor of Instruction, Chemistry/Biochemistry
The University of Northern Iowa’s Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry seeks applications for a three-year term Assistant Professor of Instruction position, starting in August 2025. The Department seeks a dynamic and dedicated educator to join our team and contribute to teaching introductory lecture and laboratory courses in chemistry for Allied Health majors (Principles of Chemistry and Applied Organic and Biochemistry), and STEM majors (General Chemistry I & II). Additional courses in the applicant’s area of interest may also be possible. The standard teaching load in the Department is 12 total classroom/lab contact hours per week. Required Qualifications: Master's degree plus at least five years of teaching experience in chemistry, biochemistry or closely related field or a Ph.D. degree in chemistry, biochemistry or a closely related field; and ability to teach university lectures and labs at the introductory level in chemistry, as demonstrated during an interview required.
Preferred Qualifications: Prior teaching experience in courses relevant to this position at the university level preferred.
