Cedar Valley Hospice is the premier hospice agency serving 15 counties with offices in Waterloo, Grundy Center, Independence and Waverly. We are currently seeking a highly qualified, compassionate Grief Counselor to join our well-respected team in our Waterloo office. At Cedar Valley Hospice you will work with the best clinicians, counselors and management team, learning highly regarded practices to achieve optimum outcomes for our grief clients and our community. The Grief Counselor is a member of the Grief Support team and is responsible for providing grief support services to hospice and community grief clients. The Grief Counselor will also work with the IDT to coordinate follow up care as identified. General office hours will be 8:00am-4:30pm Monday-Friday. Flexibility is needed. Must be available one evening per week for evening work based on client needs and group offerings. Bachelor’s degree in human services, family services, social work or a related field required. Bachelor’s degree in social work is preferred. Experience in grief support, hospice or counseling work is preferred. Current Iowa driver’s license and reliable vehicle required. While this position will be located in our Waterloo Office, travel will be required to other CVH sites on a regular basis. Experience in grief support, hospice or counseling work preferred. 3. Above average written and verbal communication skills required. 4. Demonstrates skills in organizing and multi-task responsibilities. 5. Possesses current Iowa driver's license, reliable vehicle and car insurance required. 6. Experience working with Electronic Medical Records preferred.
