Big Woods Construction is a design-build general contractor serving homeowners throughout the Cedar Valley, including Waterloo, Cedar Falls, and the surrounding communities. Our work includes residential remodels, additions, and custom home builds.

Position Summary

The Project Coordinator serves as the central point of coordination between field operations, the design team, vendors, and clients. This position is responsible for organizing and facilitating all aspects of a project from pre-construction through closeout, ensuring that documentation, communication, and procurement remain on track across every active job.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Project Coordination

Serve as the primary liaison between the field project manager and design manager throughout all phases of a project.

Schedule client consultations, site visits, and selections meetings.

Participate in and lead project update meetings with the field project manager and designer.

Track project status and identify upcoming tasks required to keep each project on schedule.

Documentation and Process Management

Maintain the construction management platform with current notes, documents, photos, status updates, and schedule changes.

Organize and transfer job site photos to their designated locations.

Develop, document, and update standard operating procedures as processes evolve.

Maintain vendor files, including current certificates of insurance.

Vendor and Procurement Management

Solicit pricing and quotes from vendors.

Oversee product procurement across active projects.

Receive product at the warehouse and update procurement records accordingly.

Qualifications

Required

2 to 5 years of experience coordinating projects or facilitating complex work involving multiple stakeholders and concurrent activities.

Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Proficiency with technology platforms Google Suite, and ability to quickly learn new software tools.

Process-oriented mindset with demonstrated ability to document and improve workflows.

Self-directed, with the ability to prioritize and execute independently.

Preferred

Experience in residential construction, remodeling, or design-build environments.

Project management experience.

Candidates without construction experience who bring strong coordination skills will be trained on the industry-specific aspects of the role.

Compensation and Schedule

Pay: $20.00 to $28.00 per hour, commensurate with experience.

Schedule: Four 8-hour days, Monday through Thursday.

Work Location: In-office in Waterloo.
