Environmental Resource Specialist
We have a current opening for an Environmental Resource Specialist to provide environmental and solid waste planning assistance to INRCOG, its member cities and counties, and the Iowa Waste Exchange program.
Our Environmental Resource Specialist provides environmental and solid waste planning services and projects by assessing waste streams and conducting waste sorts, identifying and expanding reuse and recycling opportunities, and researching recycling markets. Additional duties include assisting with the preparation of the Solid Waste Comprehensive Plan for the INRCOG region and preparing grant applications. The primary responsibility of this role is working with commercial and industrial sites to promote the Iowa Dept. of Natural Resources’ Iowa Waste Exchange Program in Service Area 3.
