Community Service Officer (CSO)

The Cedar Falls Public Safety Department is accepting applications for Community Service Officers (CSOs).  The current hourly rate is $15.00 with an increase to $15.50 after six months of satisfactory performance.  CSOs work approximately 24 hrs./wk. and applicants must be able to work nights, weekends, and holidays.  This is an entry level position where applicants see firsthand how a Public Safety Department operates and is ideal, but not required, for individuals interested in pursuing a career in law enforcement.  Duties will include, but not be limited to, responding to incoming Public Safety service requests via calls and walk-ins, radio operation, data entry, fingerprinting, and monitoring calls for service and prisoners in temporary holding cells. 


High School diploma,   or equivalent, valid driver’s license (or ability to obtain and maintain), and post-offer, pre-employment physical and drug screen are required for selected candidates.
