Responsibilities: The Assistant Vice President for Advancement Services serves as a member of the leadership team, supporting strategic planning and organizational development; serves as Treasurer of the UNI Foundation, ensuring fiscal integrity and operational efficiency in support of the Foundation’s mission; oversees financial policy development, budgeting, accounting systems, investment and asset management, compliance with nonprofit regulations, and IT services within the Advancement division; manages operating, campaign, and project budgets, and provides predictive financial modeling and planning; leads the preparation and presentation of financial statements, manages external audits, and ensures timely submission of federal and state tax filings; provides leadership and oversight to the Advancement division’s IT team, including setting priorities and aligning IT projects with division goals, coordinating with IT staff to ensure timely project completion, and ensuring effective communication between IT staff and other division units; and manages accounting and IT staff, including hiring, training, and performance management, and professional development.

Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business management, or related field; at least five years of financial management, accounting, or related experience; supervisory experience; knowledge of non-profit accounting and reporting requirements; and experience with accounting and spreadsheet software required. Master’s degree in business administration (MBA); CMA designation or CPA; experience with a non-profit organization with at least $5 million in assets; experience working with external auditors or tax preparers; strong analytical and organizational skills; and excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across department and with external stakeholders preferred.
