TWO PROKOFIEVS, PETER, A WOLF, AND A DJ

Description

Your wcfsymphony brings together the music of two Prokofievs — Sergei and his grandson Gabriel — in an unforgettable blend of classical tradition, modern innovation, and storytelling.

The concert begins with Sergei Prokofiev’s spirited Classical Symphony, a witty and energetic work inspired by the music of Haydn and Mozart. Then, classical music meets the turntable with Gabriel Prokofiev’s groundbreaking Concerto for Turntables and Orchestra, featuring award-winning Chicago turntablist DJ RTST (pronounced “Artist”).

The evening concludes with one of classical music’s most beloved musical adventures, Sergei Prokofiev’s Peter and the Wolf, featuring beloved longtime KWWL anchorman Ron Steele as guest narrator.

Two Prokofievs. A DJ. A wolf. And an Iowa broadcasting legend. This is one concert you won’t want to miss!
