Comic Relief: A Night at the Symphony
Saturday, April 25, 2026 (7:00 PM - 9:30 PM) (CDT)
Description
The Waterloo-Cedar Falls Symphony's Season Finale is Comic Relief: A Night at the Symphony. We close the season with a concert full of wit, charm, and symphonic surprises! We open with Garrison Keillor's The Young Lutheran’s Guide to the Orchestra, a hilarious and heartfelt introduction to the instruments and personalities of the ensemble. Then, comedy takes center stage with P.D.Q. Bach’s Beethoven Symphony No. 5 Sportscast, an outrageous twist on the first movement of Beethoven’s iconic Fifth. Finally, the Waterloo-Cedar Falls Symphony brings it all home with the real thing—performing the remaining movements of Beethoven’s masterwork just as the composer intended.
