About Us

Carl A. Nelson & Company (CANCO) is an industrial, commercial and institutional construction contractor working all over Iowa (including in Fort Madison and Lee County for nearly 100 years), around the Midwest and across the U.S. Working as design-builder, construction manager (CM) agency and at-risk, and general contractor, we perform work in multiple construction market segments, including:

• industrial plant construction, industrial maintenance and millwright services;
• hospitals, clinics and other healthcare facilities, including senior living;
• K-12 school construction + needs assessment and master planning;
• Recreation facilities such as community centers, YMCAs and air-supported athletic domes.
