Sales Manager

Reports To: Director of Sales

  • SCOPE

Responsible for selling hotel rooms through direct client contact. Develops hotel-level tactical sales plans that capitalize on and are supported by the overall system-wide sales plans, strategies, and programs. Executes sales strategies to maximize the revenue of the hotel while exceeding client's expectations.

  • PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

-Establishes client base of primary and secondary market segments for extended stay business in the local market as outlined in the hotel's business plan through direct sales efforts to ensure pre-determined sales expectations are realized.

-Develops and implements effective sales and marketing strategies to maximize the generation of hotel sales/revenues; participates in pricing strategy decisions to support activity.

-Develops positive and productive relationships with key local demand generators and provide exceptional service to contacts and customers.

-Assists in the development of revenue budgets and monitors sales activities/performance to ensure actual sales meet established revenue plan.

-Participates in local industry and civic organizations and all local community functions representing sales opportunities for the hotel.

-Assists the General Manager in the development and update of the hotel business plan to include input on sales goals and plans that support the overall business and sales strategies of the hotel and brand.

-In coordination with General Manager, serves as hotel representative for media related inquiries and refers sensitive matters to the brand Public Relations Department if necessary.

-Participates with management team in development of a motivated guest-focused, service culture within all hotel associates.

-Performs other duties as requested by management.

-This position involves extensive outside sales calls and frequent operation of motor vehicles to call on decision makers and potential clients in the region surrounding the hotel.

-This position utilizes problem solving and reasoning abilities often.

-Reading and writing abilities are utilized often in communicating with decision makers, potential clients or guests.

-Mathematical abilities, including basic math are utilized when making calculations regarding guest contracts, sales goals or revenue statistics.
