Clay Target Team Head Coach

Function of Position:
Responsible to the Director of Athletics for the development and oversite of the Clay Target Team. A successful candidate will be responsible for the program operation, recruiting, practice and competition management.

Principle Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Recruitment and retention of qualified student athletes
2. The organization and supervision of team practices;
3. Organization and supervision of athletes in collegiate competitions;
4. Management of the club’s budget and fund raising;
5. Other duties within the College as assigned, based upon the qualifications of the candidate.

• Excellent working knowledge of shooting sports
• Must demonstrate excellent leadership, role-modeling, organizational and interpersonal skills; and effective teaching methods
• Previous coaching and recruitment experience

• Bachelor’s degree or Associates degree with relevant experience required, Masters preferred.
• Commitment to the welfare and development of student athletes within the philosophy of Division III
• Focus on risk management and safety
• Membership and/or network within the Scholastic Clay Target Program and the Iowa State Trapshooting Association.
