Position Summary: Grow Cedar Valley is seeking a Workforce and Talent Development Manager to play an important role in executing workforce development initiatives that support talent attraction, retention, and development in the Cedar Valley region in alignment with our mission. This position is responsible for implementing programs that strengthen the regional talent pipeline by fostering connections between employers, educators, and emerging professionals. The Manager will serve as the primary organizational liaison for Cedar Valley Young Professionals (CVYP) to enhance leadership opportunities and professional growth. Additionally, this role will work with our Director of Workforce and Talent to identify and develop new leadership and workforce development opportunities that contribute to the retention of talent in the region.
Key Responsibilities:
Program Development and Management

In collaboration with the Director of Workforce and Talent, design, implement, and manage workforce development programs that support business talent needs and regional workforce goals.

Identify and implement new leadership and talent development training opportunities to enhance workforce retention and engagement.
Talent Pipeline Development

Strengthen partnerships with high schools, colleges, and technical training programs to create clear pathways from education to employment.

Develop and/or identify programs that connect students and emerging professionals with local businesses through internships, apprenticeships, mentorships, and job-shadowing opportunities.

Work with employers to increase direct engagement with students and young professionals, ensuring a steady pipeline of skilled talent.
Employer and Community Engagement

Serve as the liaison for Cedar Valley Young Professionals (CVYP), working closely with the advisory board to support networking, professional development, and social engagement opportunities.

Collaborate with the Director of Talent to develop programming and identify participants for Intern Connect.
Event Planning and Execution

Coordinate with the Director of Events and Engagement and Director of Workforce and Talent to develop workshops, job fairs, networking events, programming and talent development initiatives that provide direct interaction between employers and potential employees.

Collaborate with the Director of Talent and Workforce and Events Director to coordinate the annual Intern Connect event.

Working with the Advisory Council, plan and execute CVYP programming and events to engage young professionals and foster leadership within the community.
Data and Reporting

Track and analyze workforce and leadership program outcomes to inform decision-making and program enhancements.

Communicate program impact internally and to stakeholders.

Qualifications & Skills:

Bachelor’s degree in business, education, workforce development, or a related field.
-
2+ years of experience in workforce development, talent management, leadership programming, or economic development is desirable.

Experience working with youth and young professionals on career readiness and leadership development.

Knowledge of talent attraction and retention best practices.

Strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities.

Strong presentation and facilitation skills.

Ability to develop and execute leadership and professional development programming.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and workforce data management tools.

Rate: $55,000-$65,000 based on experience
