Family & Mental Health Services Manager

SUMMARY * Collaborates with Head Start Educational Services Director staff to improve the social-emotional climate of Head Start partner classrooms. * Models age appropriate social-emotional interactions and provides training and technical assistance Family Service Workers and (T/TA) to teachers. * Ensures compliance with the completion of required child social-emotional screenings. * Provides follow-up for identified areas of improvement and utilizes classroom profiles to strengthen positive teaching practices. * Provides T/TA to parents in the form of mental health consultation, parenting classes, and other topics identified to support positive caregiving practices. * Participates in site level service coordination to meet child and family needs. POSITION COMPENSATION/BENEFITS Salaried position; minimum 40 hour work week Benefit package Cedar Valley area (Waterloo/Cedar Falls) POSITION QUALIFICATIONS Education: Masters Degree required (MSW preferred) and holds a valid Mental Health Professional license or certification in the State of Iowa required. Experience in an Early Childhood setting or program (preferred). Experience: Management skills/supervision experience preferred. Computer Skills: Effectively utilize agency technology to accomplish tasks (Microsoft Office Suite and G-Suite applications such as Excel/Sheets, Word/Docs and Gmail; program specific software; printers/scanners/fax/phone). Other Requirements: Must be cleared and allowed to work in a child care setting by the Iowa Department of Human Services, by completing a State of Iowa Criminal History Record Check and FBI National Fingerprint Record Check. As position requires off-site work at Head Start and other child care facilities, individual must have access to transportation, valid driver's license and adequate personal liability insurance coverage. Travel throughout Black Hawk, Grundy, and Buchanan Counties within the service delivery area is required.
