Job Title: Marketing Specialist
Reports to: Director of Marketing
Employment Status: Full-time, non-exempt

Position Summary: Grow Cedar Valley is seeking a Marketing Specialist to work closely with the Director of Marketing to develop and execute marketing initiatives that enhance our mission and engage with our community.  This role involves content creation, social media and website management, and marketing material development, while providing support across all departments within the organization. 
 
Key Responsibilities include supporting the organization and its programs with branding, digital marketing, and content creation.

  • Create, manage and update email campaigns, audience segments, and automated flows.
  • Assist in managing social media channels for organization and its programs.
    • Increase engagement across social media and track analytics for growth.
    • Develop and manage LinkedIn newsletters.
  • Update and manage content for organization’s websites, including creation of new web pages for events, campaigns and initiatives. 
  • Contribute to the creation and scheduling of weekly and monthly content calendars across all platforms.
  • Content creation as needed to meet organization and marketing goals.
    • Create and edit images, graphics, and short videos.
    • Organize and schedule interviews for testimonials and marketing initiatives.
    • Schedule and create blog articles.
  • Design and creation of marketing materials to support all departments.
    • Print and digital ads.
    • Event collateral including programs, slideshows, and digital promotions.

  • Can build effective online communications and promotions, including scheduled campaigns and those that are spontaneous.
  • Stays up to date with the latest social media best practices and technologies – demonstrating progressing technical knowledge.
  • Positively represents department, and entire organization with partners, investors of the GCV community and with the general public.
  • Ensures all marketing materials/campaigns are consistent with and reinforce the organization’s brand and goals.
  • Works efficiently and independently with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to meet multiple deadlines.
  • Actively contributes to idea generation, leading practices, and goal setting.
Qualifications & Skills:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Communications, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Experience with WordPress (or similar CMS) for website updates.
  • Proficiency in email marketing platforms for campaign creation, audience segmentation and flow automation.
  • Skilled in Canva, Photoshop, and Lightroom for designing marketing materials, editing images, and creating branded content.
  • Familiarity using Google Suite (Docs, Sheets, Slides).
  • Experience managing multiple social platforms (Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram, X) and using scheduling tools.
  • Ability to organize and maintain a content calendar and coordinate marketing initiatives across all departments.
  • Must have excellent writing, verbal communication, and proofreading skills.
  • Additional helpful skills: photography, videography and editing, experience with Issuu (or similar), Google Analytics, and Klaviyo.

Rate: $25-$30/hour based on experience
