Custodian - Substitute River Hills (Days/Evening shift)
Job description Title: Sub Custodian - 1st or 2nd Shift, River Hills Depending on skills, could sub as lead custodian. Qualifications High school graduation or equivalency. Prior satisfactory work or demonstrated aptitude for work to be performed. Able to work with minimal supervision. Ability to perform heavy lifting on a regular basis. Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable. Skills and Abilities Ability to develop and maintain professional relations as evidenced by ability to relate positively with staff, parents, students, and the community. Demonstrated ability to produce results through previous assignments. Ability to establish and maintain a favorable working atmosphere. Verbal and written communication skills, including communicating a positive attitude. Ability to function as a team member. Ability to demonstrate actions that support the agencies (AEA, LEAs, and other partners) and their missions. Maintain confidentiality related to agency, district, students, and family information. Demonstrated sensitivity and respect for diversity. Reports To: Supervisor of Buildings/Maintenance, Designated Building Administrator Job Goal: To provide students and staff with a safe, attractive, comfortable, clean and efficient facility. Employment Responsibilities: Regular attendance and punctual in following schedules. Maintain appropriate appearance, attitude and use of appropriate language. Maintain confidentiality of school information. Performance Responsibilities 1. Responsible to make sure building is locked before leaving by walking the outside perimeter of the building, checking all doors to make sure they are locked. 2. Complies with all product directions in use of custodial supplies/materials. 3. Clean assigned areas daily. (Dust mop floors, vacuum carpets and clean sinks). 4. Laundry as needed. 5. Clean shower rooms daily. 6. Scrub, strip, and wax floors when school is not in session. 7. Reports immediately to the supervisor or building principal any damage to school property. 8. Remains on the school premises during school hours unless absence has been authorized by the Principal or Supervisor of Buildings/Maintenance. 10. Moves furniture or equipment within buildings as required for various activities and as directed by the principal. 11. Must be able to lift 50 lbs. on occasion. 12. Complies with laws and procedures for the storage and disposal of trash, rubbish and waste. 13. Complies with all federal, state and local safety requirements. 14. Perform other duties as may be assigned.
