Human Resources Specialist- Recruiter

DUTIES: Member of the Human Resources team, responsible for various aspects of Human Resources functions for the organization. Maintain extremely high level of confidentiality. Sustain working knowledge of employee handbook, policy and procedure manual and all benefit plans to correctly answer questions from employees or supervisors. Responsible for the recruitment of all open positions within Western Home Communities. Review applications, coordinate screening of qualified candidates, including checking references and criminal background checks. Responsible for posting open job positions internally and externally, including the Western Home Communities careers page and other sites, as appropriate to the position we are hiring for. Communicate with departments to identify recruiting needs. Continually evaluate and research new ways of recruiting talented and dedicated employees. Builds relationships and develops a broad network of contacts throughout the Cedar Valley and surroundings communities. Attends colleges, job fairs and any other recruiting sources to aide in talent acquisition. Assist in creating and writing job descriptions, as well as aide in the design of advertisements for recruiting needs. Help build and maintain a tracking system for all resumes and applications that are received by the company. Successful functioning in this position contributes directly to the overall Western Home mission of providing the best possible care for residents.

REQUIREMENTS: 2+ years post-high school education in Business, HR, or Management, with a minimum of one year related recruiting experience; or high school diploma with at least three year's related experience. Must have proficient personal computer skills, including Word and Excel. Prefer experience with Human Resource Information System programs. Must be able to work occasional evenings and early mornings as needed. Ability to read, write and speak fluent English.
