Director, Recruiting

The Director of Recruiting will oversee the company Recruiters and recruiting processes, develop hiring strategies to ensure staffing levels are maintained, work with operations and support management on recruiting needs, and manage the annual recruiting plan and recruiting budget.  Embrace CBE’s Culture Code by portraying the most positive image of CBE in all endeavors of this position.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage, train, develop & mentor the Recruiters and HR Intern(s)
  • Coordinate monthly meetings with division Vice Presidents, Training and Finance to determine hiring outlook and set recruiting goals
  • Communicate recruiting goals to Recruiters and monitor daily progress
  • Collaborate with the Training team to set new hire training schedules
  • Assist with filling open positions when needed
  • Consistent execution of recruiting plan to ensure the right quantity and quality of candidates are being achieved
  • Develop annual recruiting budget (with assistance from VP, HR and Operational leaders) and manage the recruiting budget throughout the year
  • Continually research new recruiting ideas and tools
  • Build and maintain an applicant pipeline that aligns with the company’s needs
  • Comply with all operational standards and employment laws and regulations
  • Ensure all recruitment policies, procedures and techniques are adhered to and recommend improvements
  • Develop relationships with external vendors, including advertisers, background check vendors and external recruiters and staffing agencies
  • Develop strong, effective working relationships with key internal customers
  • Participate in panel interviews for professional and management positions and conduct jobs interviews
  • Review and proofread offer letters for professional and management positions to ensure accurate information is being provided
  • Research, travel to, and confirm attendance at Job Fairs. Assure all positions are being filled within a timely manner and meeting expectations of hiring managers
  • Oversee, maintain, and train management and Recruiters (as appropriate) on the Applicant Tracking System
  • Supervise selection process utilizing CBE’s Affirmative Action Plan; continuously review Adverse Action analysis and Rate of Pay analysis and adjust where necessary
  • Review monthly applicant flow and strategize to assure a continuous application flow
  • Establish processes for interviewing, background screening and hiring of qualified candidates for the Company.
  • Access employment credit reports and be able to interpret the report for conformity to our credit check background check procedures (when applicable).
  • Conduct and interpret criminal checks for prospective employees that conform to our background check procedures.  
  • Assure that the Background Check SOP (standard operating procedures) is always accurate and up to date.  
  • Continually evaluate recruiting steps and effectiveness by establishing measurement systems and implementing improvements.
  • Conduct new hire orientations as needed
  • Assist in the design and content of advertisements for recruiting needs and ensure Affirmative Action compliance in all materials
  • Continually evaluate and research new ways of recruiting talented employees to join the Company.
  • Learn and maintain awareness of current laws and regulations concerning employee recruitment and hiring.
  • Incorporate CBE’s Core Values into all recruiting programs and ensure that these core values are being adopted.
  • Gain a clear understanding of all CBE departments and subsidiaries for best practices in recruiting for all positions.
  • Learn and understand CBE Corporate policies and procedures.
  • Review and understand all HR Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s).
  • Assist in maintaining a process for conforming with EEO-1 requirements, as it relates to submitting information timely for affirmative action.  
  • Monitor job postings on Workforce Development sites to ensure compliance with the company’s Affirmative Action Plan
  • Seek to recruit and employ minorities, females, protected veterans and individuals with disabilities; utilize the Affirmative Action Plan as a tool.
  • Assume coordination duties in setting up and conducting job fairs that CBE participates in.
  • Maintain and update the Company’s drug testing policy as necessary.
  • Ensure Recruiters are submitting completed paperwork timely and accurately
  • Take initiative and complete assignments, after initial direction, to completion.
  • Responsible for the coordination of gathering information for Human Resource type client or security audits that center around hiring and background check procedures.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE PREFERENCES

  • Degree in Human Resources or related coursework preferred or equivalent work experience
  • 4-6 years of full cycle recruiting experience required
  • Expertise and experience in large volumes of hourly employees and call center experience required
  • Strategic recruiting background required
  • Advertising and social media knowledge required
  • Must have excellent written and oral communication skills, including the ability to interact with various levels of associates and management
  • Ability to travel to all locations on a regular basis
  • Self-starter with ability to find creative solutions
  • High attention to detail
  • Excellent computer skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Power Point
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate teams
