  • Maintain working knowledge of SSI, SSDI, Medicaid and assistance regulations and requirements.
  • Determine eligibility for SSI, SSDI, SNAP, Rent Subsidy, Utility Assistance, Medicaid, Medically Needy, QMBY and other assistance or entitlement programs as applicable, completing applications and gathering required documentation as needed.
  • Notify DHS, Social Security and other applicable offices of changes.
  • Distribute information to Front Line Supervisors to assure individuals’ continuing eligibility with entitlement and assistance programs.
  • Coordinate filing of individuals’ Federal and State income tax returns.
  • Communicate concerns and changes regarding eligibility to appropriate staff and/or guardians.
  • Complete intake procedures with potential new clients for rep payee services.
  • Acting as clients’ financial representative.
  • Maintain accounting and expenditure records, Federal and State income tax information, earning statements, checking and savings statements and receipts in a complete, organized and timely manner.
  • Provide client financial statements from rep payee software and other information as requested to program front line supervisors, clients and others as authorized and requested.
  • Monitor balances against budget limitations and provide notification of spend down as necessary to individuals, program front line supervisors and/or guardians.

  • Ability to speak, read and write in English.
  • Demonstrated proficiency using Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to utilize rep payee software.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, both verbal and in writing.
  • Must be highly organized and detail oriented.
  • Ability to gather, document, analyze and interpret consumer-related information.
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize duties and remain focused in a busy environment.
  • Ability to work with others in a team-oriented atmosphere.
  • Effective time management skills.
  • Comfortable working with individuals with disabilities.
  • Ability to be flexible and handle emergencies calmly and professionally.



  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Familiarity with assistance applications and development and application of individual budgets.
  • This position requires a valid driver's license, and the ability to pass an extensive background check, including checks of the Dependent Adult and Child Abuse registries, the Sex Offender registry, and a criminal history check.
