Paraplanner

The paraplanner facilitates smooth back office business operations by means of an integrated team approach to assist the practice financial planning advisors.  Paraplanners help create an advisor engagement with a client that has a higher probability of success by virtue of his/her relationship-building proficiencies. Paraplanners are highly engaged in creating a client experience that postulates great value and peace of mind for clients.  The paraplanner can be viewed as the broad owner of the client experience working alongside the financial planning advisors, initiating the majority of client contact and interface during the performance of his/her work activities. This role necessitates exceptional follow-up skills and highly effective social skills to be successful. The paraplanner will consistently follow high standards of business and professional ethics in addition to legal and regulatory requirements when dealing with others and/or performing work activities.

  • Ability to proficiently utilize all Ameriprise financial planning tools
  • Ability to gain sound knowledge of Ameriprise Financial systems and processes
  • Ability to gain sound knowledge of FINRA/SEC and Ameriprise compliance rules and regulations
  • Expert level ability in verbal and written communication with emphasis on grammar and spelling
  • Emotional maturity with high ethical and professional standards
  • Ability to manage confidential information with discretion, be adaptable to various competing demands, and demonstrate the highest level of integrity with client service and response

Education and experience required:
 
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 2+ years of similar work experience
  • State licenses and registrations for securities, including Series 7, Series 66, and Iowa life, accident and health insurance licensure required OR ability to study and pass exams within a six month timeframe from hire
Base salary starting at $38,000 commensurate with experience.
