Instructor, Real Estate and Law

The University of Northern Iowa's Department of Finance seeks applicants for a renewable-term Instructor of Real Estate and Law position, starting August 2023. Primary teaching responsibilities include four sections per semester and may include a combination of real estate and other courses involving legal aspects of business. This position will be involved in course coordination, student recruitment, and advising and retention activities. In addition, Instructors are expected to maintain their professional licensure and significantly engage with the legal profession. Applicants will find a collegial and inclusive work environment and a faculty actively engaged and committed to the growth and continuous improvement of the real estate and finance programs. The teaching is expected to be face-to-face and not online. Instructors must be available to meet with students on campus.

The successful candidate must hold a J.D. from a nationally- or internationally-recognized university. Required qualifications include at least three semesters of recent (within the last two years) experience teaching real estate law courses at an AACSB accredited four-year university; a record of excellence in teaching real estate or law subject matter at the university level; demonstrated organizational, communication and interpersonal skills; and experience in the practice of law and demonstration of ongoing engagement with the legal profession.
