Chief Banking Officer - Waterloo or Des Moines, IA
Job Duties: Serves as a member of the Executive Management Team. The Chief Banking Officer (CBO) is responsible to oversee the strategic leadership and business plan development for the business units including lending, retail, government guaranteed lending, financial services, and mortgage lending departments. Responsible to develop, implement, and achieve annual goals and objectives as established in the annual strategic plan. Responsible for long and short-term business unit strategies and business plans to accomplish financial goals. Evaluate performance of assigned departments and staff in meeting objectives to determine department and staff improvement. Oversee the development and execution of annual budgets, financial metrics, and department performance metrics. Provides visionary leadership for lending, retail, and financial services teams. Lead sales and service teams in alignment with core values and purpose with a strong focus on teamwork and accountability. Build cross-departmental sales strategies to foster collaboration among business units. Develop and sustains effective sales and marketing direction for lending, retail, government guaranteed lending, financial services, and mortgage departments. Support bank’s risk framework through adherence to policies, procedures, processes, controls, products, and systems. Oversee the development of key initiatives including micro teams, LSB+, CRM, regional teams, and digital channels. Identify and develop long-term strategies that will include initiatives such as product portfolio mix, growth strategies, and market penetration objectives. Ensure all activities and operations of LSB are carried out in accordance with the regulations and laws governing business operations. Job Requirements: Master’s degree in finance, business, accounting, economics, management, or other relevant discipline preferred. Bachelor’s degree in finance, business, accounting, economics, management, or other relevant discipline required. Requires fifteen or more years of experience in commercial banking including experience as a senior leader with an institution of comparable scale and complexity or an appropriate combination of education and experience. Strong credit risk acumen and current knowledge of risk management best practices. Experience with complex credit analysis and financial statement analysis. Proven ability to lead revenue-generating activities of a company, line of business, or region, and simultaneously have meaningful influence and oversight for product development and strategic planning activities. Prior experience leading one or more departments at an executive level.
