Account Manager, Employee Benefits

We are seeking an Employee Benefits Account Manager to join our growing team! This position is responsible for supporting the sales process by providing prompt and courteous customer service to current and prospective clients. The Employee Benefits Account Manager position maintains accurate documentation and records of client policies and activities through established processes and workflows. Additionally, this position participates in the account review process.

This is a full-time, hybrid position reporting to our office in Waterloo, IA.

Primary Job Responsibilities:

  • Customer Service and Support: Receive phone calls and emails from clients, carriers and/or Producers regarding policy changes, requotes, certificate requests, and renewal information. Follow the appropriate processes in answering questions, educating clients, researching claim issues, troubleshooting problems, submitting information to carriers, responding to clients and updating systems. Handle escalated client complaints and interface with client contacts, Producers, carriers and/or other representatives where appropriate. Process account changes, policy transfers, rewrites, cancellations and the creation of new policies through established procedures and technical workflows.
  • Teamwork and Collaboration: Build and develop positive relationships with clients and carriers. Maintain and develop relationships within PDCM through effective team interaction, asking questions, and sharing ideas and knowledge.
  • Systems and Workflow: Navigate various sources of information, gather necessary data and input data into appropriate systems. Follow established procedures and technical workflows.
  • Organization: Collect data and arrange information in a professional, presentable and accurate format. Prepare client applications, quotes, insurance renewals and meeting packets.
  • Documentation Creation and Material Coordination: Prepare insurance renewals and provide quotes for proposals. Provide applications and collaborate with clients to ensure accuracy. Collect and organize data, arrange information in a professional, presentable manner with a high level of attention to detail and ensure Producers have this information available for client meetings.
  • Sales Support: Cross-sell various products to existing clients to round out accounts and increase client retention rate. Utilize retention strategies such as sending thank you notes to clients to build and maintain positive client relationships.

Requirements:

  • Associate’s degree in business, communications or related field or equivalent experience.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience working in a customer service role or support capacity in an insurance agency.
  • Obtainment and maintenance of State of Iowa position-relevant insurance licenses.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite including Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Proficiency with database software and website navigation.
