Responsibilities and Impact: Facilitates academic accommodations for students with disabilities; oversees coordination of alternative text processes; assists with orienting students with disabilities to the university; maintains knowledge of the laws, guidelines, and regulations affecting students with disabilities; and participates in broader department and Student Affairs Division activities.
Required Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in education, counseling, social work, family services, disability studies or related field required. Spring 2022 graduates will be considered. Degree must be conferred prior to start date. At least one year of experience working with individuals with disabilities; demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with diverse groups of people; knowledge of the application of laws and regulations pertaining to individuals with disabilities; commitment to diversity and inclusive student success; ability to work independently; strong oral and written communication skills; and strong problem solving and critical thinking skills also required. Student experience will be considered.
Preferred Qualifications: Experience providing the delivery of services for students with disabilities in a college or university setting; experience delivering academic support services in a college or university setting; knowledge of assistive technology and ADA Coordinator Training Certification preferred.
