Coordinates the UNI Literacy Clinic; manages all aspects of the school-based clinics; coordinates the UNI Literacy Initiative, a professional development experience for elementary teachers, and manages all aspects of the initiative; coordinates the Young Readers and Writers Conference; develops relationships with school district administrators to identify participants in clinics and initiatives offered by the Center; develops curriculum for clinics and workshops; engages in outreach through presentations, publications, and social media; creates online resources for teachers and families to support literacy teaching and learning; and assists with research studies of the Center.
 
Master’s degree in education; at least ten years of experience teaching in K-12 schools; experience as a literacy coach; experience working with all ability levels of literacy learners; experience working in culturally and linguistically diverse settings; and teaching license required. EdD, PhD, or Specialist Degree in Literacy Education; experience preparing and delivering professional development for teachers and other school professionals related to literacy; experience organizing professional conferences; experience running a literacy clinic for elementary students and college tutors; and evidence of successful dissemination of work through presentation, publication, and social media/website preferred. The UNI Literacy Clinic occurs after school hours, and professional conferences/professional development may occur on evenings and Saturdays. Occasional travel is necessary.
