Child Care Center Assistant Teacher

The Assistant Teacher works in conjunction with the Coordinator and Lead Teachers on implementing a curriculum that supports center philosophy and meets children’s needs to maintain a high quality early education program. The Lead Teacher prepares lessons and activities to meet each child’s development level, and is responsible for observations/documentations/assessments of each child with an awareness of the child’s physical health, social/emotional and cognitive/development state. To be successful you will have: *Knowledge of state child care licensing standards and registration guidelines for child care centers Ability to work flexible hours *Excellent customer service, public relations skills, and the ability to work with staff, students, the general public, and small children. *Ability to identify and use appropriate assessments and evaluation instructions *Knowledge of Quality Rating System (QRS) criteria and National Association for the Education of Young Children NAEYC) accreditation. *Knowledge of Creative Curriculum philosophy and techniques/objectives *Ability to speak, read and write in English. Qualifications: *Qualified candidates for this job will have either a high school diploma or a GED. *This position requires a valid driver's license, auto insurance, a good driving record, and the ability to pass an extensive background check, including checks of the Dependent Adult and Child Abuse registries, the Sex Offender registry, and a criminal history check. *High school diploma/GED *Prefer 1 year experience in child care/education or related field or related direct work experience with infant through preschool age children.
