POSITION: Assistant Professor of Biology
TITLE: Assistant, Tenure Track
START DATE: August 2024
TIMELINE: Screening of applications begins November 10, 2023 and continues until
the position is filled.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Successful candidates will provide evidence of the following qualifications:
Required
• PhD or ABD in Biology, Anatomy, Physiology, or related disciplines
• Potential for successful and innovative college-level teaching
• Plans for collaborative student-faculty research
• Commitment to inclusive communities
Preferred
• Experience teaching college-level Anatomy and Physiology
• Cadaver dissection experience and/or willingness to engage in cadaver dissection
• Experience with pre-health advising and/or mentoring undergraduate students.
• Expertise that complements current faculty
Successful candidates will also have a demonstrated commitment to promoting diversity, inclusion,
and multicultural competence in an educational and work environment and must be willing to support
the College’s mission and contribute to the strategic plan.
DUTIES:
The successful candidate will fulfill the duties of tenure track faculty to include:
1. teaching upper-level majors' Anatomy and Physiology, contributing to a team-taught
introductory biology course, and teaching courses within the general education plan
2. conducting collaborative student-faculty research
3. academic advising for students within the department
4. service to the college
