Assistant Professor, Exercise Science 

The University of Northern Iowa's Department of Kinesiology seeks applicants for a tenure-track position as an Assistant Professor in Exercise Science, starting January 2023. This position advances the university's vision, mission and strategic plan in relation to scholarship, research, and creative activity, engaged and applied learning. This position involves teaching at the undergraduate and graduate levels in two or more of the following areas: Anatomy, Sports Nutrition, Exercise Physiology, and Clinical Exercise Science. Responsibilities also include scholarship, professional service, advising students, and supervision of undergraduate and master thesis/research projects.

The successful candidate must hold a Ph.D. in Exercise Science or related field. ABD's will be considered with doctoral program completion by January 1, 2023. Required qualifications include at least two years of university teaching experience as a leading instructor in at least one of the following areas: Anatomy, Sports Nutrition, Exercise Physiology, and Clinical Exercise Science; demonstrated commitment to excellence in teaching; demonstrated ability to establish a research agenda, conduct research and publish manuscripts in peer reviewed research journals; and demonstrated commitment to professional service.
 
Preference will be given to candidates with a record of professional and community engagement; a strong background in research methodology and statistics; ability to teach clinical exercise science classes; experience advising and/or mentoring students; and a record of collaborative work.
