Advisor & Student Support Specialist, Curriculum & Instruction
Serves as a member of the Online and Distance Education and College of Education (COE) academic support/advising team; schedules individual meetings with students to map out curriculum program and schedules; advises students majoring in UNI-COE 2+2 programs; meets with prospective and declared transfer students, second bachelor degree students and added certification students in UNI’s Teacher Education Program; supports student retention initiatives for all student populations through contributing to the review and development of internal processes of data collection, review, and decision making; participates with other staff in COE departments across total college program areas to develop and implement a strategic, year-long recruitment cycle to assist in increasing enrollment efforts and outreach across the entire state; and maintains existing and updates and/or develops university articulation agreements with community colleges for the College of Education with a focus on pathways to success for students transferring into the 2+2 program.
Master’s degree in student affairs/post-secondary, higher education administration or related field; at least three years of advising experience; recruitment experience; experience with non-traditional learners; experience with various computer data systems; and excellent written and oral communication skills required. Occasional night and weekend hours will be necessary. Occasional travel will also be necessary.
