Adjunct Instructor, Ceramics
The University of Northern Iowa's Department of Art seeks applicants for a temporary Adjunct Instructor of Ceramics, starting in August 2023. Responsibilities include teaching two courses per semester: twice a week of Ceramics including Ceramics I and a stacked course section consisting of Ceramics II, Ceramics III and Undergraduate Ceramics (the most advanced section, which can be repeated for credit); and oversees and helps maintain a large and well-equipped studio, including wet glaze room, dry glaze room, clay mixing room, materials storage room, indoor and exterior kiln facilities.

The successful candidate must have an MFA in ceramics. Required qualifications include teaching ceramics at the college level as instructor of record. Preference will be given to candidates with knowledge of current technologies/digital materiality (3D Printing, mold making); active engagement with trends in contemporary ceramics; demonstrated strong skills in classroom presentation; and college level teaching experience beyond graduate student teaching.
