Warehouse and Procurement Supervisor
Position Title: Warehouse and Procurement Supervisor Employment Status: Full-time, non-exempt Reports To: Construction Manager and Neighborhood Services Manager Position Description: The Warehouse and Procurement Supervisor (WPS) is responsible for the overall daily operation of the IowaHeartland Habitat for Humanity warehouse. The WPS will oversee all materials procurement (including in-kind donations for construction and ReStore), inventory management, purchasing, and warehousing – with a focus on cost-efficiency, organization, and space utilization. The WPS will work with the construction manager, neighborhood services manager, construction supervisors, and repair supervisors to ensure the accurate and timely delivery of materials, supplies and tools needed to the Iowa Heartland Habitat sites. The WPS will ensure the proper maintenance and storage of Iowa Heartland Habitat vehicles, machinery, tools and equipment. Essential Duties and Responsibilities - Planning, organizing, and management of warehouse operations, including procurement, documentation, storage, and distribution of supplies, inventory, materials, tools and equipment. - Monitor, track and purchase materials for build and repair projects, utilizing gift-in-kind where possible, and ensuring efficiency and cost-effectiveness. - Coordinate delivery of materials and necessary supplies to job sites to ensure smooth operations and workdays on-site. - Arrange for the transportation and warehousing of completed wall panels following off-site panel builds. - Responsible for timely maintenance and replacement as needed of vehicles, machinery, tools and equipment. - Creation and implementation of new inventory management system. - Work to implement cost reduction principles in all aspects of warehousing transactions and activities. - Observe health and safety regulations; maintain warehouse, yard and main office in a clean, safe, and orderly condition. - Assist construction and repair teams as requested during special events or peak building seasons. - Work with construction and ReStore managers and advancement director to procure in-kind donations to meet fundraising goals. Qualifications and Requirements - Knowledge of warehouse operations, procedures, equipment, inventory and terminology. - Exceptional computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office required. - Knowledge of stock replenishment and monthly inventory tracking and reporting. - Experience working with in-kind donations preferred. - Working knowledge of OSHA safety rules and construction safety standards. - Exceptional driving record and experience safely operating heavy machinery. - Friendly, with ability to communicate and build respect with coworkers, volunteers, contractors, and subcontractors. - Dependable, hard-working, team-player with the ability to work independently with minimal or no supervision. - Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment. - Commitment to Iowa Heartland Habitat for Humanity’s mission and principles. - Experience working for a construction company preferred. - Experience in a warehouse environment required, with supervisory or management responsibilities preferred. Physical Requirements - Must be able to lift 50 lbs. repeatedly throughout the shift. - Must be able to walk/stand for long periods. - Must be able to bend, stoop, kneel, reach above head, climb, and use stairs. - Parts of facility are not climate controlled, and candidate must be able to adapt to hot or cold working conditions. - Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
