On-Field Announcer

Overview: This position will be a key member of the game-day staff, assuming the role of the on-field host and addressing/interacting with fans during Bucks games. Responsibilities: 1. Act as one of two announcers for fans during Bucks games, focusing on on-field activities with the aim to create a safe, wholesome, family-friendly, all-inclusive environment of FUN. 2. Make live announcements over the Riverfront Stadium sound system including but not limited to safety information, directional information, merchandise features, concession updates (e.g., “last call”), upcoming events, starting lineups, promotions, activities, and any and all sponsored messaging. 3. Introduce live segments, sponsored and unsponsored, and work with Bucks staff members to run the on-field/between-inning promotions as requested. 4. Follow the script that is provided daily and read not only prepared messages but also as-it-happens live messaging. 5. Introduce live pre-game segments: special guests and dignitary introductions, specially recognized fans, ceremonial first pitches, National Anthem performances, and more. 6. Report for pre-game setup and production meetings and plan to work approximately four hours every Bucks home game. Hourly commitments may vary depending on weather conditions, game results and other schedule adjustments as announced by the organization. Requirements: 1. Have the willingness to stand throughout the duration of their shift(s). 2. Have the willingness to walk swiftly on and off the field and throughout the ballpark. Qualifications: • Dependability- displays punctuality, follows instruction and responds to manager’s instructions. • Willingness to represent the Waterloo Bucks in a positive manner. • High attention to detail. • Previous similar experience preferred but not required. Job Length: The main duties of the position will run from May 30 through August 9. There may be other opportunities for work after August 9 pending the Bucks making the playoffs. Typical shifts will start 60 minutes prior to the first pitch and end at the completion of the game.
