Position: Official Scorer (Fill-In)
OverviewThis position will be a key member of the game-day Press Box staff, scoring various Bucks home games.
Responsibilities:

  1. Obtaining each team’s lineup 30 minutes before each game’s first pitch.
  2. Entering lineups into both the Official Scorer laptop and the Video Board Scoring computer.
  3. Keeping score for both the Northwoods League scorebook and in-house Video Board scorebook.
  4. Ruling on key scoring situations as the game dictates.
  5. Finalizing scorebooks at end of game and submitting for league review.
  6. Other duties as necessary.
Requirements:
  1. Have the willingness to sit throughout the duration of their shift(s).
  2. Basic computer knowledge.
  3. Strong knowledge of baseball and the proper scoring of baseball games.
  4. Online training courses as to the usage of the scoring software will be provided.
Qualifications:
  • Dependability- displays punctuality, follows instruction, and responds to manager’s instructions.
  • Willingness to represent the Waterloo Bucks in a positive manner.
  • High attention to detail.
  • Previous similar experience preferred but not required.
Job LengthThe main duties of the position will run from May 26 through August 9, filling in for the regular Official Scorer. There will also be opportunity to continue this position past August 9th if the Bucks will host any playoff games. Typical shifts will start 30 minutes prior to first pitch and end at the completion of the game.
