Client Service Specialist

Discerning Wealth in Waterloo is seeking to hire a full-time Client Service Specialist. The Client Service Specialist plays a critical role in helping to coordinate client service activities with a strong focus on delivering the ultimate client experience. This position will maintain high service standards, create positive client experiences and foster a culture of teamwork and collaboration. The CSS will engage in client-servicing activities on a day-to-day basis with specific emphasis on how to best serve clients. This role necessitates exceptional follow-up skills and highly effective social skills. Regular and predictable attendance is required. To be successful in this role, the ideal individual will have strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to collaborate in an integrated team environment.

Essential Functions and Duties:

  • Coordinates and accomplishes assigned service tasks and activities under the direction of the Operations Manager
  • Nurtures client relationships alongside paraplanners and advisors and works collaboratively with integrated team members
  • Assists in completing basic meeting prep for clients under direction of the Operations Manager as requested
  • Demonstrates strong social skills with the ability to build lasting relationships with clients at all levels
  • Employs strong organizational skills that reflect ability to perform and prioritize multiple assignments seamlessly with excellent attention to detail
  • Assists in gathering and compiling data for client meetings as directed
  • Handles day-to-day client service requests as directed; may involve analysis and research as requested
  • Exhibits the highest level of client service and response; follows up and follows through
  • Works to achieve resolve with all client service matters in a timely and accurate manner
  • Assists in scheduling activity as needed; covers reception desk as needed
  • Acts as a primary phone back-up, responsible for promptly answering telephone overring
  • Completes a variety of operational tasks as needed; is comfortable learning and navigating new technology and software applications
  • Complies with all Ameriprise training and compliance regulations
  • Performs other related duties as required and assigned

Education and experience required:
  • High school education is required
  • Post high school education preferred
  • 5+ years of previous administrative experience preferred
Salary Range:

        $32,000 - $36,000 based on level of experience
