An Overview of Modern Marijuana AND Iowa’s Cannabidiol Program

There are lots of misconceptions and confusion about marijuana. Do you know what the difference is between marijuana, THC and CBC? Do you know what is legal and illegal? Could you recognize a legit medical marijuana card? Is your current workplace policy appropriate to avoid litigation? Let's clear the smoke and answer some of your questions. In this first weekly workshop of three, you will: • Differentiate between whole plant marijuana, THC and CBD. • Describe the difference in the marijuana of the 60’s/70’s and modern marijuana. • Identify at least six different THC products. • Define the terms: decriminalization, medicalization, legalization. • Delineate the medical provider role and at least two qualifying medical cannabidiol conditions. • List the five forms of medical cannabidiol allowed in Iowa. • Recognize an Iowa medical cannabidiol card. • Consider the implications of Iowa’s Cannabidiol Program data on the workplace. • Begin evaluating workplace policy for alignment with appropriate terminology, HR guidance, and legality.
