Little People's University is a Literacy project that seeks to spark the love of reading in youth in kindergarten to the third grade and is free for the whole family. Little People’s University has four main goals. The first goal is to encourage parents to read with their children and equip them with tools and strategies to successfully help their children. The second goal is to encourage parents to build their own community with the other parents involved in the group. This will provide a support system that could last longer than the child’s engagement in the Little People’s University. The third goal is to afford the students assisting an opportunity to give back to a community that has given them a great start. The fourth and final goal is to develop collaborative partnerships to support and meet the needs in our community. Activities such as story time, games, activities and each child goes home with a brand new book. Lunch is provided as well. Childcare is available for those who are too young or too old to participate.
