Advancing Equity in the Cedar Valley: Session 1

The Community Foundation of Northeast Iowa, Black Hawk County Public Health Department, and Grow Cedar Valley invite you to attend the first of two community convenings focused on advancing equity in the Cedar Valley. Session One will engage nonprofit, school, and government organizations working to create a more equitable Cedar Valley. We recognize that to move the needle forward and achieve equity in our community, it takes us all coming together. A more equitable community is possible when people and communities move beyond obligatory inclusion to true co-creation. We believe this will lead to stronger stable social networks, impactful programs, and greater overall well-being. This convening builds on the systems mapping work hosted by the Black Hawk County Health Department. This is NOT a Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion training, nor is it meant to assess organizational shortcomings in meeting the needs of all populations. In fact, we want to uplift those who have taken steps forward by providing a platform of community practices to be shared with others and identify resources that could support collective action to expand the level of equity for our community. Facilitators Joy Briscoe, Top RANK Stacy Van Gorp, See What I Mean (SWIM)
